Open End Blind Rivets Overview
Open end blind rivets are designed for fastening in a fast and simple way. They are available in a wide range of materials such as AL.5050, AL.5052, AL.5154, AL.5056, SS304(A2), SUS 316(A4), Steel, and copper.
These material options provide specific benefits such as joint strength, material compatibility, corrosion resistance, and cost. Along the same line, the finishing options are vast, from lacquering to various protective coatings, offering infinite customization possibilities.
Application of Open End Blind Rivets
The core rivets are mainly used in cases where only one side has access to the connection point. The rivets are placed in a drill hole and are set by pulling the shaft head into the rivet body. This action expands the rivet body and causes it to expand on the blind side.
When the head of the core rod reaches the surface of the blind-side material, the pulling force is resisted. At a predetermined force, the core bar breaks at its break point, also known as the “blind setting.” The tight connection formed by the main body of the rivet remains, and the head of the spindle is still encased on the defect side, although various forms can be used and the spindle stem is ejected.
